Steven Kirby, DDS

Pediatric Dentist Dr. Steven Kirby grew up in rural northern California, in the town of McKinleyville. At the age of 19, he went on a two-year service mission for his church in Santiago, Chile where he learned a new language and culture. He is fluent in Spanish and continues to be in contact with friends that he met while in Chile. Dr. Kirby received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California Riverside and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California. After graduating from USC, Dr. Kirby completed a two-year hospital-based pediatric dental residency at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Kirby has a very calm and cool demeanor that helps relax both his pediatric patients and their parents. He believes that making visits to the dentist a fun and enjoyable experience for his patients is one of his most important jobs. Dr. Kirby loves spending time and vacationing with his beautiful wife, who is a Prosthodontist, and their daughter. They are very excited for the arrival of their second child. Dr. Kirby is an avid motorsports fan, likes to watch and play basketball, baseball, football, and motocross, and enjoys working on classic cars.

Christine Kim, DDS MSD

Dr. Kim grew up in Orange County. She attended UCLA for both college and dental school. After dental school she continued her training as a general practice resident at Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Center in Downey, CA. She then completed her pediatric dentistry specialty training at Loma Linda University. Dr. Kim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association.

Dr. Kim loves working with children and strives to establish trusting relationships with patients and their families. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Kim enjoys golfing, playing tennis, and watching Disney movies.

Philip Yoong, DDS

Dr. Philip Yoong was born in Southern Orange County, and grew up across multiple cities including Houston, Las Vegas, Dallas, and even in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He received his bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego and went on to earn his DDS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Philip found his passion for working with children while managing free dental clinics at an elementary school in San Diego during his undergraduate years. He then completed his advanced pediatric dental training at the University of Southern California and CHOC Children’s Hospital. In addition to private practice, he is an adjunct assistant professor at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC.

His passion for dentistry and care for patients is what motivates him to continually learn and collaborate with healthcare providers from different disciplines. He is an advocate for all children and their families and is dedicated to lifelong learning to better to serve the community. In his free time, Dr. Philip enjoys playing tennis, trying the latest food trends, and spending time with his wife and family.
